This refers to Moodle 3.11 from August 2022 onwards

NOTE: You can NOT use the drag and drop method to move files between folders. It is necessary to download the content you wish to move before uploading to a new/recipient folder.

NOTE: Files can be downloaded individually, or the entire contents of a folder can be downloaded as a .zip.

  1. Begin by navigating to and opening the original/donor folder.
    1. Download individual files by clicking on the relevant filename.
    2. Download the entire folder contents by clicking 'Download folder'.

Download folder contents

In both cases, either the file or the .zip will be sent to the downloads folder of the computer.

2. Navigate to the module that contains the new/recipient folder and click on the 'Turn editing on' button (pencil icon in the top-right of the module).

3. Scroll down to the new folder (or if needed, create a new folder) and in the folder click on 'Edit' then 'Edit Settings'.

2. When you have added your files click on the 'Save and return to module' button at the bottom of the page.

3. Click on the 'Turn editing off' button on your main Moodle page

You will now be able to see your uploaded folders in your folder
