Using Translated Texts in Doctoral and Masters Theses

The School's Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee (RKEC) has discussed the importance of having oversight of translated material which may be used as evidence, or be the subject of an analysis or discussion, in a doctoral thesis or Masters dissertation.

RKEC agreed that, where necessary, an expert should always be internally appointed to check the translation. Where PhD and Masters topics include large amounts of translated material, approval should be given by RKEC prior to use.  Students who require further information should contact their Supervisor.
