Troubleshooting

Logging in

You will need a University of Nottingham Associate IT Account to access Moodle.

Please ensure that you:

  • respond promptly to emails from the University asking you to set up your account: instructions will be included.
  • change your password when prompted

Go to moodle.nottingham.ac.uk

Login using your username (not email address) and the password you set.

On your Dashboard you will see any modules you are enrolled on, usually those for which you are external examiner.

Here's an example.

TIP: If you can't see the one you're looking for, check that the dropdown on the top left is set to "All (except removed from view)"

  • Click into a module.
On the module page, Assessments are normally towards the top of the page
  • Click on Individual Submission Link, or whatever Section title seems most likely if not that one,
  • Click on the Assignment
It will either be a Turnitin Assignment, like this:
    or a Moodle assignment

In a Turnitin Assignment you can see the marks on the first page. Click on the blue pencil against a particular student to see feedback (including rubrics, if present), and marks.

NOTE: If you have not accessed Turnitin before, you will be asked to agree to the Turnitin End-User Agreement. Please click I agree or you will not be able to moderate assignments.

In a Moodle Assignment, click View All submissions

Click the Grade button for a particular student to see the grade and feedback.
